Penmor Recycling Facts
Penmor recycles approximately 449 tons of waste paper and 18 tons of cardboard
each year. That equates to 934,000 pounds of waste that is kept from landfills
and is able to be reused. Recycling 1 ton of paper saves the following:
- 17 trees (35' tall)
- 7,000 gallons of water
- 2 barrels of oil (enough fuel to run the average car for 1,260 miles or from Dallas to Los Angeles
- 4,100 kilowatts of energy (enough power for the average home for 6 months)
- 60 pounds of air pollution
- 4.2 mwh of energy (enough energy to power a computer for almost a year
Therefore, by Penmor recycling 449 tons of waste paper, each year we save:
- 7,633 trees
- 3,143,000 gallons of water
- 898 barrels of oil
- 1,840,900 kilowatts of energy
- 1,436.8 cubic yards of landfill space
- 26,940 pounds of air pollution
- 1,885.8 mwh of energy
